President's Message

Welcome to Royal University for Women (RUW) and it is a privilege to lead this outstanding institution. May I start by congratulating those of you who are new to the University on securing a place at RUW, and for our returning undergraduate and postgraduate students for successfully completing the requirements of the previous year.  You chose to join a university “where women excel” and you will all excel in your own individual ways.

The start of the year is always a special time, and even more so this year as we are focused on providing an exceptional education for all our students.  To our new students, you will quickly fit into our dynamic community of learners and discover your unique place here.  You are now part of a university that has an excellent reputation and you will be regarded as an ambassador for RUW wherever you go and your contributions will be vital as we all continue to build our reputation.   

Here at RUW, our programmes prepare students for jobs in the regional economy, contributing to the world of Business, Law, Architecture and Art & Design.  I am pleased to announce, in collaboration with the University of Liverpool, RUW will host the Master of International Business Law, commencing this semester.  You can also select from a wide variety of independent certificate courses and foreign languages here at RUW that provides a gateway to a new life!  My role as the President, remains to support you in accomplishing your academic and personal goals and provide a stimulating teaching and learning environment. 

I also want to remind all our students that RUW has access to the West Virginia University e-learning resources.  A broad and rich array of articles, journals and e-books to complement our growing on-campus library.  Our Women’s Research Centre is definitely a centre to visit and connect with our active researchers.  RUW also offers a range of resources to compliment your student life, including availing of our excellent sports facilities. In this new chapter of your life, you will form lifelong friendships and the RUW journey will equip you with everything you need for the next exciting stage of your adventure. 

Our values shine through our alumni, you are our pride, and we observe you with gratitude for your support assisting our students and we will always offer strong and steady support in return. Always remain active participants and inspirational ambassadors of RUW and wishing you a wonderful year ahead.

To conclude, I applaud our students for choosing our unique university, which will empower you to become future leaders in your community.
