It is my pleasure to welcome you all to the new academic year. As the Director of Student Life, I am excited to work with you and to support you throughout your academic journey.

We believe that your time at this institution should be filled with opportunities for you to explore your interests, engage with your peers, and develop the skills that will prepare you for your future career.
The Royal University for Women values student involvement in extracurricular activities such as the Student Council, Student Clubs, RUW Sports Teams, special events, during national and international celebrations, as well as workshops and courses on a variety of topics.

We encourage you to take advantage of all the resources that we offer, and to get involved in the many clubs and organizations on campus. These experiences will not only enhance your college experience, but also provide you with valuable skills and connections that will benefit you long after you graduate.
I encourage you to explore all that RUW has to offer. There are great ways to get involved. You can find out about activities such as recreation and athletics, student organizations, clubs, student council, different groups, community engagement.
Our mission in Student Life is simple-to support you and create a living-learning community where you thrive, belong, and become engaged citizens. Clearly you are the heart of the university and an integral part of our campus. We will always be available to help you. If you have questions, concerns, or need assistance, just ask. Many resources and support are available to you through our collaboration with different stakeholders and strategic partners.
At OSL, we seek to engage our students in various and meaningful ways, connecting them to experiences that distinguishes them from their peers within RUW and in other higher education institutions in the Kingdom of Bahrain and beyond.
The main focus of OSL is to provide an exciting year filled with intellectual epiphany as well as differentiating experiences that will foster the potential of each one of our students.
OSL focuses on New and First Year students, Current and Graduating students as well as our Former students and Alumnae. The role revolves around facilitating first year students to become well-oriented and engaged, preparing current students in different colleges and majors to become more sophisticated as articulate leaders on our society, and one of our main differentiating characteristics is the connectedness with our graduates and Alumnae and our continuous support through our academic advisors who become over time professional.
At RUW and through OSL, our goal is to become one of the leading student services programs among other universities and academic institutions by placing emphasis on both the intellectual and interpersonal growth of the students we serve.
Once again, I welcome you to campus and look forward to meeting you. I hope your time on the campus will be exciting and challenging in new and different ways. Your academic success is our top priority-study hard and enjoy your RUW experience. Have a terrific year!
Sincerely,
Dr. Nehal El Naggar (DBA, FHEA)
