04,Mar 2021

The Royal University for Women (RUW) signed a letter of agreement with International Coaching Federation (ICF), a non-profit organization dedicated to professional coaching, for pro bono coaching projects that included the ‘Ignite Initiative’, which uses the collective power of ICF Chapters, Members and Credential holders to accelerate the United Nations (UN) 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.

Through this endeavour, RUW along with ICF will address the Institutional goal of Quality Education represented by the Sustainable Development Goal Number Four: (SDG#4) which is to “Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all” and shall increase the impact of it by achieving another goal on the College level which is to develop career development goals for all faculty members.

RUW hosted ICF Bahrain Chapter for an informative Ignite project Kick-off call for 18 faculty members that were nominated by RUW to provide information about Coaching and its benefits as they will be participating in the Ignite Coaching initiative starting February 21st till August, 2021. Each member will benefit from 8-10 individual sessions in this period with their respective coach.

Dr. Mona Suri, Acting President of the Royal University for Women, emphasized that in order to provide a high quality of education, faculty must enhance their delivery by the necessary training about coaching. Dr Suri explained that through the collaboration with ICF, it will add a global dimension to it by adopting the 4th goal of the Sustainable development and to be exposed to the best practices regarding it. RUW is very pleased to work with ICF and hope to have long term relationship with them for the benefit of the faculty.

Coach Fuad Abdulla, President of ICF – Bahrain Chapter, stated that he is happy to launch the global Ignite initiative at RUW as it is being the spirit of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) which is highly needed for individuals and organizations these days.
