RUW President Visits Bahrain Polytechnic

The President of the Royal University for Women, Prof Yusra Mouzughi, visited Bahrain Polytechnic where she met the Acting CEO of the College, Dr Reem Al-Buainain. Professor Mouzughi praised the many achievements of Bahrain Polytechnic and shared the academic programmes offered by RUW and the opportunities the university for students to excel. In addition to that, Professor Mouzughi emphasised RUW’s strategic goal that is centred on women's empowerment and advancement through higher education. Conscious of the value of collaboration especially between public and private sector institutions, Professor Mouzughi also discussed with Dr Al-Buainain prospects of cooperation in terms of exchanging experiences and scientific research, as well as the recent scientific developments that accompanied the COVID-19 pandemic and linking higher education institutions in a way that contributes to achieving the desired visions and aspirations for the higher education sector.

 

For her part, Dr Al-Buainain welcomed Professor Mouzughi and praised her academic and practical experiences in higher education and wished her success in her presidency of RUW. Dr Al-Buainain provided an insight into the academic programmes offered by Bahrain Polytechnic, and the role of the Polytechnic in qualifying and training Bahraini youth for the labour market, and providing them with skills for the Fourth Industrial Revolution, digital transformation and to innovate in the field of artificial intelligence, as well as helping them obtain job opportunities based on their qualifications.
