Royal University for Women organises series of webinars with Manchester Metropolitan University, UK

Royal University for Women (RUW), the leading university in the Kingdom of Bahrain dedicated to women empowerment and advancement through higher education, organised a series of webinars with Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU) in the United Kingdom. The webinars were exclusively held with RUW for being the first and only university in Bahrain dedicated to Fashion Design education.

This series of webinars came as part of the College of Art & Design goals in partnering with leading higher education institutions from across the world to provide students with a global experience in the field of Fashion Design. The webinars discussed various topics such as “Corporate Social Responsibility & Sustainability in Fashion”, “Fashion Brand and Conscious Designing”, in addition to “Conversation with Fashion Design students at RUW and MMU” exchanging their thoughts across cultures on designing skills and the global fashion industry.

 

The event witnessed excellent participation from students at both universities, alumnae, prospective students who were interested in fashion design education, experts from the industry, College Advisory Board members and the university faculty members. Commenting on the talks given by MMU instructors, student, Ms Esraa Alalawi, said “these webinars provide me with the opportunity to explore my career prospects in the field of fashion design, which is very promising to young designers”.

 

 It worth noting that the Royal University for Women is the only higher education institution in the Kingdom of Bahrain to offer a Bachelor of Fashion Design offered in the College of Art & Design.
