Royal University for Women organises sports activities in celebration of Bahrain Sports Day

RUW – Riffa: Royal University for Women celebrated Bahrain Sports Day by organising a variety of activities that witnessed the large participation of members from academic and administrative bodies and students, led by the university’s President, Professor Yusra Mouzughi, at its campus in Riffa.

The sports event provided fun and enthusiastic interactions between employees and students and contributed to breaking the work routine, promoting the culture of teamwork, entertainment and enhancing the sports culture to be adopted as a healthy and enjoyable lifestyle.

The event's program included a walkathon across the campus and a table tennis competition, in addition to the fitness exercise (Zumba) for university students and female employees held in the RUW Sports Centre. Gifts and prizes were distributed to the participants in the event.

On this occasion, RUW President Prof Yusra Mouzughi emphasised the university’s keenness to spread awareness of the importance of sports in its community. She added that Sports are considered a basic pillar at RUW to maintain a healthy and entertaining environment for both students and staff. This is clearly shown with the presence of RUW Sports Centre that accommodates the various sports hobbies and interests of RUW members as it includes fitness equipment and activities, a large swimming pool and a multi-sports court.
