The Quality Assurance & Accreditation Unit (QAAU) was established in 2007. The focus of this unit is threefold; firstly to develop the University’s framework for quality management and its implementation of practices that ensure continuous quality improvement for both Administrative and Academic sectors.
Parsa Zoqaqi is the Director of Quality Assurance & Accreditation Unit at Royal University for Women (RUW). He has a graduate degree in English Translation from Azad University and a Post Graduate degree in TESOL from University of Southern Queensland. Parsa is currently the head of the KPI architecture team and is involved in the monitoring of the RUW performance through a Balanced Scorecard System. He also chaired the Strategic Planning Committee developing the university’s Strategic Plan.
He has held various management positions in major institutions in the region. He was previously the Director of Centre for General Studies (CGS) at RUW. The CGS obtained accreditation for the preparatory programme in 2011. In addition, the EAS programme was mapped against the National Qualification Framework in Bahrain and was provisionally validated in 2013.
In the realm of education, Parsa has over 20 years of teaching experience, teaching English, Leadership, and Communication Skills, and has designed and implemented a variety of curricula at Higher Education institutions. Furthermore, he has extensive teacher training experience running workshops on course design, classroom management, KPI development, and leadership. Parsa joined RUW in 2005.
Mona Abdul Jawad
Quality Assurance and Accreditation Unit
Mona Abdul Jawad joined RUW in 2010. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering. In addition, she holds a Professional Diploma in Management Consultancy, a certified Balanced Scorecard Professional, and is a certified ISO 9001:2008 Lead Auditor. She is currently studying for a Master’s degree in Strategic Quality Management.
Mona has been a trainee network engineer at IBM and has worked as an IT Consultant at Ernst and Young before joining RUW. As an IT Consultant she has assisted in designing and developing IT policies, processes and procedures. In addition, she has conducted Information System Audits for a number of organizations in the banking and automobile industry.
At RUW she is involved in developing the university’s framework for Quality Assurance and Accreditation. She is also involved in the development and monitoring of the RUW Strategic Plan Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), Operational Plans, and the RUW Balanced Scorecard. In addition, Mona holds the position of Management Representative (MR), in which capacity she ensures the compliance of the administrative sector operations to the ISO 9001:2008 standard. She conducts periodic internal audits for the administrative departments as part of the ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System (QMS) requirements.
Mona is involved in the training of RUW staff in respect to ISO 9001:2008 QMS requirements and departmental Balance Scorecard implementation.
Mai Abdulla AlAAli
Quality Assurance and Accreditation Unit
Mai joined RUW in 2015 in the role of Quality Assurance & Accreditation officer. Mai holds a Bachelor’s degree in Banking & Finance, in addition to multiple certificates in Financial Analysis including Intermediate Financial & Credit Analysis, Finance of International Trade, Financing Small & Medium Businesses, and Communication & Analytical skills.
Prior to joining RUW, she worked at HSBC Bank Middle East Ltd for six years. She held the position of credit analyst in which she was responsible for writing credit proposals and applications, evaluating the performance of corporate entities by conducting financial analysis and maintaining accounts’ due diligence.
At RUW, Mai provides operational support at the Quality Assurance and Accreditation Unit. She is also in charge of control of documents and the safekeeping of document records. Her other responsibilities at the QAAU include assisting in conducting internal administrative and academic audits, and processing of updates and modifications to policies and procedures.
