The Royal University for Women underwent the transition audit from ISO 9001:2008 to 9001:2015, in addition to the regular annual surveillance audit on the 19th and 20th of June 2017.

The Quality Assurance & Accreditation unit conducted a series of internal audits, and meetings with the administrative staff, managers, and director to ensure preparedness for the transition and surveillance audits.

The audits were conducted by AJA Europe inspectors, and they covered all administrative departments operating under the ISO scope. The audit team consisted of three external auditors and audits were administered and coordinated by the Quality Assurance & Accreditation unit.
The first day of the audit commenced with an opening meeting attended by the President of the Royal University for Women, Professor Mazin Jumaah, and all administrative Directors and Managers.

The audit team resumed with a review and discussion of the internal risks and opportunities identified by the departments as part of the requirements of the new ISO QMS, with a wrap up of an audit of the Quality Assurance Unit and the Management Representative’s procedures and documents.

During the second day of the audit, the administrative departments underwent the surveillance audit, during which the Office of Student Affairs, Office of the Registrar, Purchasing Department, Facilities & Services, Information & Communication Technology Department, RUW Library, Human Resources, and Public Relations & Marketing were visited by the audit team.

The closing meeting had a positive verbal feedback from the auditors who praised the QAAU, the quality of internal audits conducted, and the quality of the documentation prepared and submitted by the QAAU and the administrative departments. The auditors announced that there were no non-conformances raised, and will be recommending RUW for transition to ISO 9001:2015. The official audit report and certificate are expected to be received by the end of July 2017.
