Dr. Hala is originally from Omdurman, Northern Sudan. She is proud to be the great granddaughter of late Sheikh Babiker Badri, who is the pioneer of women education in Sudan. In 1907 he started the first school for girls in his own house in Rufaa, Sudan. This first girl's school later progressed until it became one of the biggest and best Universities for Women in the Sudan situated in Omdurman, known as Ahfad University for Women (Ahfad means grandchildren). Her first degree is in Management from Ahfad University for Women, Sudan.

She holds a PhD degree in Accounting and a Master's degree in Financial Managerial Controls, from University of Southampton, UK. She is also a Certified Nonprofit Accounting Professional (CNAP). She has taught at Ahfad University for Women, Sudan, for over 10 years after which she decided to move on to the practical side of her field and in nonprofit organizations.

She worked as an Accounting Manager and a Project Manager in the Delegation of the European Commission to the Sudan. In 2005 she moved to the USA and this was when she started to work in the University of Maryland University College (UMUC) as an adjunct Associate Professor in Accounting. She also worked as the Accounting Manager in the International Rescue Committee, Maryland, USA. Her research interest is in the area of grounded theory and management accounting as well as e-learning.

She enjoys traveling and has visited some countries in Europe, Asia and Africa. She also like reading self-help books.

Dr. Arpita A Mehrotra, Bachelor and Masters in Commerce degree holds a PhD in Commerce with the title "Changing demographics and its impact on the marketing strategies of FMCG manufacturers in post liberalised era" from Lucknow University, India. In her 13 years of experience she has served as Director of Marketing and Academics in Mumbai School of Business, India and has been a leading academician with in depth teaching experience in Financial Management, Accounts and Marketing.

She led a team that organized a national level seminar on "The Emerging Economies and their rising Global Influence". The seminar witnessed participation of Professors, corporate dignitaries and university level students who presented their ideas and research papers on the above.

Dr. Mehrotra, has also been very active in extracurricular activities related to the field of music, social service and mass communication media. She has a Visharad (graduation) degree in Classical music. She has been a radio artist and has sung many songs for All India Radio.

In the field of social service Dr. Mehrotra has helped several non government organisations to raise funds for orphanages, old age homes and bed ridden abandoned patients.

Dr Najdat Mahmood joined this University in September, 2011. He completed his postgraduate diploma in insurance management from University of Baghdad- Iraq, and his Phd from University of Wales, UK.

Dr Najdat has more than 10 years of experience in the insurance sector and 15 years of teaching experience at graduate and postgraduate programmes in universities of Baghdad, Amman and the Applied Science University – Bahrain. He has been actively involved in supervising post graduate students. Till date he has guided seven Post Graduate dissertations.

His main areas of interest are Insurance, Takaful, Finance and Islamic Banking. He is currently teaching subjects in the area of Finance and Islamic Banking at RUW

Dr. Ramprakash Bharateesh Kasi, earned his doctorate and two master degrees from Bangalore University, India. His doctorate thesis was in the area of information technology service marketing and his master thesis was on sales force management in the pharma industry. He is also a recipient of the Confederation of Indian Industry Industrial fellowship award for his research in corporate citizenship behavior undertaken for Philips Software Centre, Bangalore. Dr. Kasi has passed the national education test for lectureship eligibility from the University Grants Commission, India.

Dr. Kasi has extensive experience (over 19 years) as a quality assurance professional and a business educator. Before joining RUW, Dr. Kasi was with an institution under the Ministry of Education, Government of Bahrain, responsible for implementing institution-wide quality improvement and enhancement measures and coordinating the development of the institution’s strategic plan. Dr Kasi has also served as an Assistant Professor at a leading higher education institution based in Bangalore, teaching Bachelor and Master level courses in Business and Management.

Dr. Kasi has to his credit a number of publications in refereed journals. He has also presented research papers in national and international conferences and has served on various committees and panels in Bahrain and India.

Dr. Samar believes always in the importance of the right education for women and children in the Arab society. She fulfilled her dream to go back to school while she had three children. Starting from 1992 till 2008 she received her three degrees (one year before her elder son received his own PhD).

She has established a foundation called Antami (I belong) to publish books and stories for children about Arab heritage and culture. Her first book is going to be released in summer 2014.

Dr. Samar is a member of the The World Council for Curriculum and Instruction (WCCI) – Bahrain Chapter to highlight issues of concern in curricula as they relate to global educational paradigms and to create linkages between educators and other stakeholders within the Gulf region.

She has also published many articles and studies about human rights, education, women and culture. She is also writing a book on Women in the Arab world.

Before joining RUW, Dr. Vivien served as Director of Operations in a non-profit organization in Washington DC organizing student seminars, then served as Program Manager in the Office of International and Global Outreach at West Virginia University where he ran the Office of Multicultural Programs. His academic area of expertise is the European Union.

Dr. Vivien coordinates the internationalization strategy of RUW. He teaches "Advanced Communication, Economic Union, International Political Economy, and Leadership.

He sits on the Continuing Education Committee as well as the Alumnae Committee, and chairs the Editorial Board.

Born in Dijon, Burgundy, France, Dr. Vivien graduated from Burgundy Business School (ESC Dijon), and holds a Masters in Political Science from Oklahoma State University and a Ph.D. from West Virginia University.

He is married and has a young son, Noé.

Assistant Professor Ilene Valian A. Agana is an academician and an entrepreneur. She acquired a Doctoral Degree in Business Administration (DBA) at Lyceum-Northwestern University, Philippines. Her Educational research entitled "The Role of Private Universities in Enhancing SMEs in the Kingdom of Bahrain" aligning with the Bahrain Vision 2030 which aims to develop employable skills for Bahrainis and encourage entrepreneurship, the way to depart from oil dependency. Her extensive experience in academia and industry honed her knowledge and skills to be able to share sustainably in pursuit to economic development. Dr. Ilene has developed her own business to practice what she teaches and entwines, by providing effective teaching, mentoring, counselling and consultancy. This is a profession in a loop.

Dr Rashid Al-Jalahma graduated from Brunel Business School (UK). His doctoral thesis was about implementation of Total Quality Management.

Dr. Rashid was awarded 'best paper of the year' award in annual conference of Brunel University 2011. His PhD thesis was nominated as the most impressive thesis on TQM in 2012.

Previously, he worked as maintenance manager of an aircraft maintenance division for more than 20 years with extensive experience in aircraft engineering, maintenance management, training, quality and logistics.

Dr. Rashid is a senior consultant in Quality Management, Performance Excellence & Organizational Culture. At present, he is the head of department for Quality and Excellence in a government organization.

His areas of interest in teaching include operations management, supply chain management, total quality management, logistics management.

Dr. Nehal El Naggar received her a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration from Ain Shams University, Egypt. She completed her MBA majoring in Globalization and International Business with a thesis titled “A Critical Appraisal of the UN eGovernment Readiness Report, A Case Study on Egypt” from Maastricht School of Management (MSM), The Netherlands. She holds a Doctorate Degree in Business Administration in Human Resources Management with a research titled “Measuring the Employability Gap, The Managers’ Vs. The Employees’ Perspectives” from the Arab Academy for Science and Technology.

Over the past twelve Years, Dr. Nehal has been working as a Researcher, Academic Instructor and Advisor, a Business Consultant and a Management Trainer. She has been teaching both the undergraduate and graduate students in various National and International Universities in Egypt. She has been actively involved in assisting and supervising post graduate students both on the Masters and Doctorate levels in Maastricht School of Management (MSM), the Arab Academy for Science and Technology and The GUC. Dr. Nehal has the passion for research, personal development and empowerment of students. Dr. El Naggar won the Technology in Governments in Africa Award (TIGA) while working with the Egyptian Government as a Business Development Officer at the Ministry of State for Administrative Development (MSAD).

Dr. Matthias Bode earned his Business Economics Diploma in Germany (University of Hannover). After that, he focused in his PhD work on the role of music in business communications.

He has been teaching for more than 16 years Marketing, Brand Management, Consumer Research, Advertising and Consumer Culture Theory at universities in Germany (University of Hannover; University of Oldenburg; Bauhaus University Weimar)), in the USA (University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign) and in Denmark (University of Southern Denmark). Since 2007 he worked at the University of Southern Denmark, first as a visiting lecturer, then as an Assistant Professor, and since 2010 as an Associate professor.

He worked for the European Union project on sustainable households, developing and executing research in several European countries with multi-stakeholders on the consumer acceptance of future oriented solutions to make household activities like washing, cooling, heating, more sustainable. He has also experience as an advisor for audio branding consulting.

In his academic research he asks the question how marketing is shaped and shaping the cultural, social and historical context it comes from and acts upon. He published a book together with Prof. Dr. Ursula Hansen on the history and development of marketing theory and practice in Germany. With the same co-author, he also published one of the first German academic contributions on the role of gender in marketing theory.

He has published widely in international journals and books, served as a member of program committees for international conferences, participated in numerous global conferences, and is serving as a reviewer for international conferences and journals.

Dr. Matthias Bode has a strong personal and professional interest in sound and music. He follows the Austrian late-Romantic composer Gustav Mahler, who declared that the most important part of music is not to be found in the notes.
