A WELCOME NOTE FROM THE DEAN
It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the College of Business & Financial Sciences. At this webpage, you will be able to explore various majors offered by the College. As part of Quality Assurance Authority for Education and Training (QAAET) Programme Review, RUW's Bachelor of Business programmes have received the highest rating, which is a “Confidence”. Further, the College of Business and Financial Sciences is now a member of the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), first step towards the international accreditation process.
Dramatic changes in information technology and communication as well as changes in international relations are reshaping business attitudes and expectations. The emergence of regional co-operation councils throughout the world and international agreements on global trade has contributed to the change. This has also opened up opportunities for women to participate at all levels of business. Without question more, well-trained, highly educated women are needed to take up new challenges in the world of business.
The primary objective of the Business Studies is to prepare students for effective professional and managerial careers in organisations. This preparation includes developing a capacity for critical thinking, for integrating knowledge across different disciplines, and for utilising current theory in approaching practical business problems. Students are expected to become comfortable with taking risks, to work as part of a team, and to develop the necessary skills to lead others.
The programmes at the college are of international standards and have been developed with an international focus along with an emphasis on local and regional needs. The College of Business and Financial Sciences always seeks to provide the market with well-trained women through an education that develops the overall personality of students, values excellence, and is focused on a career path.
The college genuinely cares about students and their future. We are placing a great deal of confidence in their ability to learn from the professors and from each other. Students should make sure to take advantage of all that is offered here at the Royal University for Women. We want students to always remember that we are here to help guide them, but they are the one responsible for their education, so we hope they make the most of it.
